Well we have been in the Colorado area visiting David and Sarah for a few weeks now. After a couple more weeks and one more camping trip we are headed East to visit my brother and his family in Tennessee.
We have thoroughly enjoyed our time here. Probably the most interesting, eye opening, not even sure what to say, things about Colorado is the weather. It is EVER changing. If you don't like the weather right now, wait an hour, it WILL change. We have had sun, rain, wind, icy rain, and that could literally all happen in the space of a few hours. We are definitely NOT used to this!
I have included in here some pics of the majestic, gorgeous, pristine, Rocky Mountains. One of God's finest creations anywhere! We were there on the 3rd of June for about 9 hours and really did not see a lot of it. One could spend days upon days there and never get tired of the awesome scenery. It is amazing!
The Aleuvial Fan...in 1982 there was a catastrophic flood that did much damage to the town of Estes Park and the surrounding area. This fan shape pile of rocks was swept down the mountain in the wake of the dam which broke.

Forest Canyon

On top of the world!
At the very top above the tree line the road cuts through these massive rocks. That's why it's name the Rock Cut Road
It was freezing when we were there at the top...the water and ice I imagine stay frozen for quite some time...
Alpine Visitor Center at the top was just recently dug out....the logs on the roof are to help support the roof when it's buried in snow.

Michele Meyers...she has been up there about three weeks and will work through the summer and part of the Fall. Webster was smitten!
Sprague Lake...hoped to see moose here but just got wet instead!
On our way to Michele's place we saw a gorgeous rainbow. Thank you Father for the reminder of how much you care....
